The 47th edition of the Little Caesars Fox Hunt presented by Bronco Motors returns Fri-Sat, June 14-15, to Firebird Raceway. One of the highlights of the Fox Hunt is that all ladies get in for free (on the tower – east side of the raceway).
Making their season debut will be the fire-blasting Jet cars. A trio of Jets will perform this weekend. The famed “Iceman” Jet Dragster of Curt White will perform along side of the impressive “Tomahawk” Jet Funny Car of Derek Snelson from Yakima, Wash. And making their debut at Firebird will be the all-new “Pyromaniac” Jet Funny Car owned by Steve Cluck and driven by the talented Richard Smith. It will be a sight to behold as speeds surpassing the 270 mph barrier along with a fire show that’ll be positively jaw dropping.
Race fans have come to love the popularity of all the different wheelstanders at Firebird over the years. New for 2024 will be the Guinness World Record Holding P.T. Cruiser called “Walking Tall” of “Nitro Mike” Kunz.
Presented in part by Good Vibrations Motorsports, this year’s race will showcase an amazing line-up Supercharged Funny Cars and Blown Dragsters & Roadsters. Additionally, a stout field of Funny Cars will compete in the Northwest BB/Funny Car series.
The Fox Hunt also offers the next stop in the Boise Muffler Gold Cup Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts. Categories are open to all racers with eliminations contested on both Friday and Saturday. Classes include Super Pro, Pro, Sled/Bike, Sportsman, Pro Comp, Nostalgia and Fox eliminators.
A tradition at Firebird since 1977, the Fox Hunt has showcased the fire-blasting Jets since the beginning. Looking back, the first Jet exhibition at Firebird featured the legendary “T.V. Tommy” Ivo. Since that day, Jets have been one of the most anticipated attractions of the race season.
