The second opportunity to test will take place Sunday, April 9th. The Open Test Day will feature grudge racing, along with unlimited practice time on either the quarter- or eighth-mile.

Gates will open no later than 10 am. Testing gets underway at 11 am and continues until 4 pm. A test card is $30 (plus $7 for your 2017 permanent number). Admission is $12 for adults, $3 for kids 6-12 and 5 & under free.

The first day of testing (on April 2nd) featured a good-sized turnout of racers. Aside from the stiff headwinds, conditions proved to be ultra-fast. With temperatures in the mid-50’s, the corrected altitude was just a few hundred feet above sea level. Firebird sits at an elevation of 2,700′. As most know, cool weather typically produces quick elapsed times and fast speeds.

Sunday will offer your second chance to either earn a spot in the 100 mph club or up your current speed. Racers earn a decal when they surpass 100 mph by running through the mufflers on street or DOT tires. Decals are offered at 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, and 170 mph.
