The 41st edition of the Summit E.T. Finals attracted over 500 racers from fourteen tracks over Labor Day weekend. The allstar Division 6 event was loaded with many of best bracket racers from four states and three Canadian provinces.

In the all important final team standings on Sunday, P.I.R. earned their first overall track championship in twelve years (2006). Portland held off the home track, the second place finishing Firebird team. For Portland, they garnered their eighth title.

On Saturday, Woodburn claimed the Track Manager’s Cup with Firebird claiming second during Saturday’s prestigious Race of Champions.

Individually, the Firebird team earned a trio overall eliminator victories. On Saturday, Scott Grondahl won the Motorcycle/Sled class. Grondahl earned a trip to the NHRA World Finals this coming November to compete for the Summit national crown. Calli Deming swept the Jr. Street division title stopping team-mate Grady Halverson in the final.

Sunday saw Brad Pattan not only nail a rarified “Perfect Run” in the fourth round (.000 reaction, 10.140 on a 10.14), but also won the Super Pro class. Pattan defeated a redlighting Sean Shaffer, (Firebird team). Impressively, Lucas Hull was runner-up in the giant Pro division Sunday.
