Remembering Bob Erskine: A Cherished Member of the Firebird Racing Family

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Erskine, 78, from Baker City, Ore., a beloved figure in our racing community whose presence touched countless lives at Firebird.

Together with his devoted wife Carmen, Bob was more than just a regular competitor in our Sportsman class – he was a cornerstone of the Firebird racing family. Bob brought his passion for racing to our track several times each season, piloting his Dodge Dart with a enthusiasm that was truly infectious.

What made Bob special wasn’t just his dedication to the sport, but how he and Carmen embodied the very spirit of drag racing. They found joy in every aspect of race day – from the thrill of competition to the warm camaraderie shared among racing families who gather in the Treasure Valley foothills throughout our racing season.

Bob represented everything our sport aspires to be. His commitment to racing was matched only by his character, earning him the admiration and respect of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He set an example of pride, dignity, and sportsmanship that will continue to inspire our racing community for years to come.

To Carmen, the entire Erskine family, and their many friends, we extend our deepest condolences. The loss we feel extends beyond our immediate family to our entire staff and the broader racing community that Bob touched so profoundly.

Godspeed, Robert. Your legacy at Firebird will never be forgotten.
