The Pepsi Nightfire Nationals played host to four action-packed days and nights. Celebrating Firebird’s 50th year of racing, there were a wide variety of highlights and exciting moments. We would like to say thanks to all the racers, fans, sponsors and raceway staff on behalf of the entire New family. Living up to the pre-race billing, it was most certainly a double-throwdown “race for the ages”!

Unfortunately, mother nature interrupted the late rounds of eliminations on Sunday evening. With the finals for Funny Car, Top Fuel, Fuel Altered and Pro Modified sitting patiently in the staging lanes, persistent rain showers kept the finals from playing out. A decision was reached to finish the Funny Car, Top Fuel and Pro Modified final rounds in Bakersfield at the NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion. If we could recommend one thing, order your tickets today for the Reunion because it’s guaranteed to be a barnburner event again this October!!!! Tickets can be secured by calling: 1-800-884-NHRA.

All other racers still in Sportsman eliminations split the purse in Bracketeer, Top Fire, Pro, Heavy, Sled/Bike, Bracketeer Consolation, Pro/Heavy Consolation and Bracketeer Dash for Cash.
