We could not be any more excited than we are right now in anticipation of our 50th year of racing. Starting in April and ending in October, we are putting all the final touches together for our 2017 race season.

So you can better plan our your “big event” racing calendar, here are the specific weekends for Firebird’s 2017 “big three” events.

First up will be the 47th edition of the NAPA Auto Parts Ignitor Opener presented by Peterson Chevrolet. Set for May 5-7, 2017, Firebird’s longest running event will once again be aligned with the Division 6 Lucas Oil Drag Race Series. The event will also play host to the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series with the dramatic sights `n sounds of AA/Nitro Funny Cars making their first of two Boise stops in the chase for the Heritage national championship.

A tradition in western Idaho for the past 45 years, August has long been home to the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals. Running August 10-13, 2017, the track’s most significant racing weekend will feature AA/Funny Cars, AA/Fuel Dragsters and AA/Fuel Altereds, along the nationally-recognized Bracketeer Series. Racers from fifteen states and Canada are anticipated for one of the richest sportsman weekends of the season at Firebird.

Our final major event of 2017 will be the NAPA Auto Parts Halloween Classic XXIV, which returns October 11-15, 2017. The planning wheels are already in motion for what promises to be one of the most “fun” and “exciting” races of the year.
