Two Idaho racers successfully scored titles in the 2021 NHRA Land of the Leaders E.T. Challenge. Congratulations to both David Wood (Sled/Bike) and Summer Field (Jr. Street) for earning the year-end championships.
The Challenge is comprised of four specific events at each of the Division 6 dragstrips. In Sled/Bike, Wood held off Kevin Bromley from Portland Int’l Raceway in a 203 to 195 point decision. Summer Field secured a grand total of 229 points. She outdistanced nearest challenger James Householder from Renegade Raceway, who garnered 120 points in the final standings.
The top Firebird racers in the other divisions included: 5th – Ken Windley (Super Pro), 5th – Stan Deming (Pro) and 2nd – Camryn Stocker (Jr. Lightning).
Final standings are now posted on the Northwest Division website.
