MARC MEADORS RIPS OFF BIG 5.91-246.10 TRACK RECORD BLAST TO SWEEP FOX HUNT PRO MOD TITLE
Marc Meadors captured his first Firebird major event Pro Modified title by winning the 36th Annual Fox Hunt presented by Little Caesars Pizza. During eliminations, the Goodguys president blistered a new track record for Outlaw Pro Mod, running a remarkable 5.91 seconds, at a speed of 246.10 miles per hour (old record 5.98, B. Williamson; 242.06, J. Diedrich). The “Pure Hell” Camaro also ran 5.93-244.76 in the semi’s before defeating John Scialpi who redlighted in the final round. Image above by Brian Losness/Nitrophoto
One of the most popular wins of the night came in the BB/Funny Car Consolation when Kim Parker drove her “Hell on Wheels” Mustang to a very nice 6.97-199.86, much to the thrill of all the ladies in attendance.
In the Boise Muffler Gold Cup chase, Sean Shaffer achieved a rare feat. He non only swept the Super Pro class (downing the defending track champion Rayce Kidd), but also won top honors in the Sled/Bike eliminator.

HOT NIGHT OF RACING AT THIRD STOP IN FAIRLY RELIABLE BOB’S CLUB CHALLENGE SERIES
After fighting weather at the first two stops in the Fairly Reliable Bobs Club Challenge Series, the third event was hot, dry and breezy. The team competition was equally hot as twenty-four clubs participated in the Silver, Bronze and Copper Cup divisions.
With a corrected altitude topping 6,000’ and consistent 15-20 mile per hour headwinds, the day proved to be quite interesting in the five different racing categories. Adapting very well to the high-altitude and windy conditions, Sharlene Lancaster helped the Melba Outlaws build on their existing lead. Driving her colorful `31 Ford Model A Coupe, she ran 11.78 (over Chad Foruria); 11.86 (over Joe Fuentes); 11.78 (over Seth McLean); 11.81 (over John LaRue); 11.80 (over Matt Compton); and 11.77 (over team-mate Terol Rasmussen).
Congratulations also goes out to each of the other four champions, which included: Kevin Shumway (Notorious Hot Shots), Jason Squire (Venom Racing), Brandee Todd (Naughty Girls), and Monte Bryant (Flying Brick).
In a hotly contested season for both team and individual points, the next stop in the Club Series (race #4) will take place on Friday, June 28.
