PETER CLIFFORD ANNOUNCED AS NEW NHRA PRESIDENT
We’d like to say welcome to Peter Clifford, the new President of the National Hot Rod Association. Former NHRA President and Board Member Dallas Gardner made the announcement today regarding the retirement of Tom Compton and the promotion of Clifford who previously held the position of NHRA Executive Vice President and General Manager.
“Peter Clifford will be an outstanding president of the NHRA,” Gardner said. “Peter’s faithful and effective service to all constituents of the NHRA family will ensure a spectacular new era for everyone who loves our sport, and he brings a passion for the NHRA that is unmistakable. Peter is most deserving of his new appointment, and we know he is more than up to the challenges and opportunities on the horizon.”
“We have known Peter nearly back to when he first started working for the NHRA in 1997.” said Firebird’s Scott New. “He is very professional, respected and a good person to carry the torch on into the future of our sanctioning body.”
On behalf of all of us in the New family and our staff, we want to wish Peter, pictured at right, the very best in his leadership roll within the National Hot Rod Association.
