The race marks a key stop in the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series for both AA/Funny Car and AA/Fuel Dragster. Both reigning Heritage World Champions are pre-entered into the event. As the defending national Funny Car champ, Bobby Cottrell leads a strong field in the “Northwest Hitter” Camaro campaigned by owner Bucky Austin. In Top Fuel, Mendy Fry will look to defend her 2018 Nightfire crown after winning the recent NHRA Reunion in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The fan favorite AA/Fuel Altereds will compete in their own nitro eliminator on Friday thru Sunday, too. We are excited about the return of reigning Nightfire champion Dan Hix with his “Heatseeker” roadster. The Xtreme Pro Mod association is also expecting a large field of blown, nitrous and turbo doorslammers at Firebird’s signature event of the season.

The event will also showcase the spectacular, wheelstanding Jelly Belly Stagecoach of Ed “the Outlaw” Jones. Jets will also light up the skies with both the Tomahawk and Earth Flight turbine machine, both of which will help light up the skyline on Friday-Sunday.

All pre-entry brochures have mailed for the richest weekend of sportsman racing in the Northwest. The famed Bracketeer Series returns with a whopping $85,000 in guaranteed cash on the line. The event is open to all racers, including categories for: Bracketeer (Super Pro), Pro, Sled/Bike, and Heavy, along with the popular Lucas Oil Top Fire eliminator presented by CMYK Grafix Top Fire will qualify the quickest 16 open wheelers and the quickest 16 full-bodied rides, with an overall champion crowned during Sunday’s Prime Time Finals. New for 2019, we will offer a Pro Nostalgia category specifically for front-motor dragsters, altereds, roadsters and pre-59 cars and trucks (running 10.49 or quicker).
