The NIGHTFIRE is Idaho’s premiere motorsports event!![]()
It’s not too early to start making your plans for the 52nd annual Nightfire presented by Bi-Mart. Firebird’s “signature event of the year”returns to western Idaho over the weekend of August 3-6. Looking back in time, many of the greats have raced at this August mainstay located up in the Treasure Valley foothills.
Nationally recognized drivers like John Force, Don “the Snake” Prudhomme, Ed “the Ace” McCulloch, Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen, “240 Gordie” Bonin, Jerry “the King” Ruth and many others have collected Nightfire hardware dating back to the earliest of days.
The drama and excitement of Nitro will be showcased on Friday through Sunday. In addition to a pit full of AA/Funny Cars, AA/Fuel Altereds and AA/Fuel Dragsters, the Nightfire will feature the likes of blown, nitro and turbocharged Doorslammers, the earth-shaking, fire-blasting Jets and the wheelstanding “Outlaw” Stagecoach, too.
Friday offers The Blower Shop Friday Opening Pro Qualifying starting at 8 pm. On Saturday, it’s the Bi-Mart Saturday Night Thunder with qualifying at both 2 pm and 8 pm. It’s Family Day on Sunday with final eliminations presented by St. Luke’s kicking off at high noon.
Hundreds of racers from all over the west will also compete in the nationally-acclaimed Bracketeer Series for a weekend combined purse topping $200,000. Racer Registration (link) is now available for the 2023 Nightfire. Classes offered include: Bracketeer (Super Pro), Pro, Heavy, Pro Comp, Top Fire and Sled/Bike.
