Firebird team members participated in a full-day training seminar leading up to the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals event.
Hosted by NHRA Safety Safari member Russ Smith, the S.F.I. course involved both a class room and hands-on educational program.
The raceway staff participated in everything from fire training to extrication exercises. We’d like to pay special thanks to All American Towing for supplying a vehicle for the team to use during the training session.
Firebird’s Director of Safety Andy Varin helped Smith oversee the course. Varin is an veteran fire fighter for the Eagle Fire department and is a past participant in the S.F.I. training seminar at Firebird.
The track has long dedicated itself to offering multi-faceted training throughout a given season. Following the original motto of the National Hot Rod Association “Dedicated to Safety”, Firebird has long taken great pride in not only training, but also offering all the necessary tools and personnel to act when the need presents itself.
