We were very sorry to learn about the passing of Glenn Brusse on March 14, 2019. Over the span of the past several decades, Glenn was an avid supporter of Firebird and events throughout the region. We always enjoyed his wit, humor and confident nature about a wide spectrum of things in life.

Everyone is invited to Glenn’s Celebration of Life: April 27 starting at 3-6:30 pm. VFW Hall, 8931 W. Ardene St., Boise 83709 (in the Overland and Maple Grove are). No host bar with snacks.

Glenn was a devoted Pontiac enthusiast. Through the past several decades he became very close friends with the Page family (Rod, Jackie, Sean – operators of Boise Muffler), among many others in the greater Treasure Valley. Together they all shared one common denominator, the Pontiac brand. Glenn had an all-white 1970 Pontiac GTO that was a real eye grabber.

Over the years, his real love within the Firebird Drag Racing scene was the Street Machine Shootout. He was always fine tuning his Goat to be competitive in the Unlimited Quick 8 class. After a lot of effort, Glenn eventually pushed his Pontiac deep into the 9’s, while driving to and from Firebird events (sans a trailer).

He was really driven by the Shootout format – pro tree, heads up, first one to the finish stripe wins (no dial in’s and no breakouts). He also found it real satisfying when all participants in the Street Machine event were required to drive into the event.

Glenn also enjoyed the challenge in the early days of participating in the unique reliability test. Each qualifiers had to drive a pre-designed tour through the Firebird facility to prove a cars street capabilities and sustainability (big radiators definitely benefited all those who participated in the reliability test). He just loved the challenge of making a street car run fast on street tires.

On behalf of all of us in the New family, we send our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Brusse family, close friends and acquaintances, along with anyone else who came to know him over the years.

God speed, Glenn.
