The planning wheels are already in motion for the 2017 Summit E.T. Finals. The prestigious NHRA event will take place over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-3, 2017, at Woodburn Dragstrip.
Fiercely competitive, the Firebird team will be looking to assemble the “best” 60 Gold Cup racers together from our region. Firebird racers will be gunning for an eighth Division 6 Track Team Championship. Categories include Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Sled/Bike, Junior Dragster and High School. Thursday will offer a test `n tune day. Friday will feature a full slate of Gambler classes and time trials. Saturday is the Race of Champions. And Sunday will be the battle for the 2017 Track Team Championship. It’s four non-stop days and night of racing.
Winners in the Race of Champions (Sat) will earn a spot to run for the Summit national championship. Each of the division champions from across the country will race at the NHRA World Finals in Pomona, Calif.
Not many other events all season long match the fun and atmosphere of the E.T. Finals. Team spirit is amazing. A chance to hang out with fellow racers and teammates with one common goal in mind. Toss in a purse topping $30,000 in prize money and you have the makings of an extraordinary event.
The Team Finals will return to Firebird in 2018 and move to Pacific Raceway in Kent, Wash., in 2019.
