We are excited to unveil the 2026 Drag Racing Schedule as Firebird kicks off the 58th year of NHRA drag racing in the Treasure Valley foothills.

The first major event this season will be the Spring Warm Up & Swap Meet. The event returns for the 32nd  year on April 3-4. Vendors, buyers, racers and fans take part in the largest automotive swap meet in the 5-state intermountain west.

The oldest event on the track schedule is the 55th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Ignitor Nitro Opener presented by The Blower Shop is set for May 14-17. The Opener will feature AA/Nitro Funny Cars at Idaho’s first of two major NHRA Heritage Series stops this season.

In addition, the Ignitor combines with the opening stop in Division 6 for the Lucas Oil Drag Race Series. Racing will be contested in Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Top Dragster, Top  Sportsman, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Sportsman Motorcycle/Sled, Super Pro and Pro. The marque event will also help to showcase the 75th Anniversary of the NHRA with the highly anticipated Super Stock and Stock NHRA class car showdown.

June will be an extra busy month at Firebird as the 46th Annual Project Filter Oldies But Goodies Drags returning on  May 30-31. The headline attraction will be the AA/Supercharged coupes and sedans that are capable of running better than 200 mph in the quarter-mile. By popular demand, the thrilling A/FX Patriot tour will be headed to Idaho featuring some of the wildest door cars in racing.

A 49 year tradition, we look forward to featuring the first appearance of the season of Jet cars on June 12-13. The Little Caesars Pizza Great American Fox Hunt & Drags Races presented by the Kendall Auto Group will also showcase the Good Vibrations BB/Funny Cars, Supercharged Dragsters & Roadsters, along the fire-blasting, 270 mph Jet cars!

Mark your calendars today for August 6-9, Firebird’s “signature event”, the 55th Annual Nightfire Nationals presented by Bi-Mart will feature AA/Funny Cars, AA/Fuel Dragsters, AA/Fuel Altereds, Pro Modified Doorslammers, and Jet cars under the lights. We’re also very excited to be the home of the oldest major bracket tournament in North America. The Bracketeers will showcase Firebird’s richest sportsman purse of the season. We guarantee it will be the “RACE OF THE YEAR IN 2026“!

We will look to close our the major event calendar with the NAPA Auto Parts Halloween Classic XXXIII. The dates are locked in for October 7-11. No different than past years, it will be the Halloween party of the year for racers and their families who will be participating in our final major event of the season.
